Welcome aboard!
Waxholmsbolaget’s boats provide a regular service every day all year round, from Arholma in the north to Landsort in the south. Just climb on board and join us. The journey won’t cost more than a few hundred kronor but it will be an unforgettable experience.
Home harbour Stockholm
Strömkajen in Stockholm is Waxholmsbolaget’s main harbour and most of our summer tours depart from here. We also have terminals in Vaxholm and Stavsnäs as well as an additional number of mainland jetties that are important junctions for our archipelago travellers.
Departures and timetables
Current departure times are available in SL’s Travel planner or in our timetables. If you have any questions please call our traffic information office 08-679 5830, Mon-Fri 08:00-16:45 and Sat-Sun 08:00 -15:00.
Tickets and passes
Individual tickets should be purchased on board. A single journey costs between 45 and 130 kronor depending on the distance. You can buy a Waxholmsbolaget pass in advance at any of terminals on Strömkajen in Stockholm, in Stavsnäs or Vaxholm.
THE BOAT HIKER’S PASS
Costs 420 kronor and is valid for 5 days on all Waxholmsbolaget routes as well as the Cinderella boats. The card becomes valid once you begin your first journey.
CASH CARDS
Can be refilled and used as payment for each journey. The advantage is that you receive a 25% discount. We load the card with 1,000 kronor, but you only pay 750 kronor.
Note: All cards must be activated in the ticket machine on board at the start of every journey.
Don’t forget the semaphore
The round foldable sign on the jetty, known as a semaphore, should be placed in its vertical position while you are waiting for the boat. This signals the captain that someone wants to embark.
Where is the boat going?
The boat’s final destination is not always indicated. When services in and out of Stockholm arrive and depart at the same time it can sometimes be a little confusing. Please ask a member of staff if you are unsure. Larger islands often have several jetties
On Svartsö, for example, Norra Svartsö jetty is in the north whereas Alsvik’s jetty is on the southern side of the island and is therefore served by another line.
Disabled passengers
Our modern boats are spacious, with handicap toilets and helpful staff. Read more in our brochure, The Archipelago for Everyone, which can be downloaded on www.waxholmsbolaget.se
