About Waxholmsbolaget

Explore the beautiful Stockholm archipelago with Waxholmsbolaget! We run daily and year-round public transportation in the archipelago. With us you can reach hundreds of destinations.

Our archipelago traffic is part of the public transportation system of Stockholm. We are like SL, but at sea. The fun part about us, is that we will take you to a beatiful place at the same time as we help the islanders get to their jobs or get their mail and morning paper. On our boats you will meet kids going to school, islandhoppers, groceries bound for the archipelago stores and goods ordered by the islanders.

In addition to our modern ships taking you to the archipelago with speed and comfort, we also operate steamboats. What they lack in speed they make up for in beauty, historical heritage and charm. There are also á la carte-restaurants onboard the steamboats.

Waxholmsbolaget also operate the Djurgården ferry, a harbour ferry line that runs from Slussen to popular Djurgården and Skeppsholmen.
